Distinguished personalities of international status have been invited as main speakers.

CALL FOR PAPERS
The aim of the International Conference is to contribute to the broader discussion currently developing in Greece and abroad on the study of music in higher education. The conference will explore the ways in which musical research and performance can be combined and further developed at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, so as to ensure a proficient and high-level training for musicians. Moreover, the conference will investigate the systematization of traditional music studies in terms of structure, content and goals.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
The official languages of the conference are Greek and English.

Abstracts (500 words) should be submitted by March 1, 2009 to Dr Eleni Kallimopoulou at elkallim@uom.gr together with a short curriculum vitae (150 words), and will be reviewed by the conference committee.

Presentations should last 20 minutes including all audiovisual illustrations, plus 10 minutes for questions. Full papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings if submitted by March 31, 2009.

May of Musical Methexis, in the context of which the conference takes place, will also host seminars, workshops, lectures, and concerts; distinguished artists will gain awards for their work and contribution.
