The conference venue is located in a picturesque area, right next to the Baltic Sea. It is home to the M.K. Čiurlionis National Art School’s Art Education Center, where the school’s students spend their summers. The M.K. Čiurlionis National Art School collaborates with the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, providing space for various seminars and other cultural events.
Transportation
There are several options for reaching the conference venue. Some examples:
(1) Probably the simplest is to fly to Palanga Airport (PLQ). From there, you can take a taxi to the conference venue or even walk (3.2 km). Or, if you want to shorten your walk, take city bus No. 3 and travel one stop (“Karjerai”). From there, it is only a 1.5 km walk to the conference venue.
(2) Other options (but longer and more complicated journeys):
Flight to Kaunas (KUN) or Vilnius (VNO) airports. There are more flights to these airports than to Palanga Airport.
From Vilnius Airport, take a taxi or city bus No. 1 or 2 to Vilnius Bus Station (10 min. by taxi, 20 min. by bus), and from there take a bus to Palanga. The travel time is 4.5-5.5 hours, and the price is 25-30 EUR.
From Vilnius, you can also take a train to Klaipėda, but then you will need to take an additional bus transfer from Klaipėda to Palanga.
By the way, if you enjoy traveling by ferry, there are ferries from Karlshamn and Kiel to Klaipėda. From Klaipėda, you can reach Palanga by bus.
You can take a taxi from Palanga bus station to the conference venue. However, the cheapest option would be to take city bus No. 3 and get off at the “Karjerai” stop. From here, it is only a 1.5 km walk to the conference venue. (3) If you are driving from Klaipėda, Kaunas, or Vilnius, turn off the A13 road at Palanga onto the A11 road towards Palanga. Pass two roundabouts (stay on the same road), pass the Baltic Petroleum gas station (on your right), then turn right onto Klaipėda road (Klaipėdos plentas), pass another roundabout and after about 1 km turn left onto Kontininkų Street. After about 1 km, turn right onto Užkanavės Street; after about 1.5 km, you will reach the conference venue.
